Aurora, Colo. (March 9, 2015)—Residents have begun moving into the completed Village at Westerly Creek II, a project built by Palace Construction and designed by ej Architecture for the Housing Authority of the City of Aurora. The project was designed and built to incorporate ADA and UFAS requirements, and features energy efficiencies. The development replaces the obsolete housing development Buckingham Gardens.

Westerly Creek Building 2 the second phase of the Westerly Creek project, and is a 4-story structure consisting of 65 units designed to meet the needs of senior residents. The exterior of the building includes private decks for each unit, metal awnings, masonry, metal and cementitious siding. The landscaped community space includes a snow melt system for safer resident access during winter months.
Palace Construction followed Enterprise Green guidelines, including energy efficiencies such as a 56.1 kW solar system. The exterior envelope also includes increased insulation to achieve high R-values. Palace Construction developed and implemented a Section 3 program with the assistance of the City of Aurora.
